As we prepare for the new year, we’d like to reflect on some of our favorite milestones and accomplishments in 2023.

Hong Kong International Airport won Collaboration Project of the Year alongside AECOM at the 2023 Construction Computing Awards in London City.

2) People Milestones

In 2023, 92 DBM Vircon team members received loyalty awards for their tenure, marking milestones of 10, 15, 20, 30, and 35 years of dedicated service with us. Moreover, some of our team members also achieved remarkable personal milestones. Ellery Miles earned a place in the Autodesk Construction Cloud’s “40 under 40: Champions of Construction 2023” list, while Andrew Bellerby was honoured with the BIM Hero token of appreciation at the 2023 BIM Coordinators Summit. At DBM Vircon, our ongoing efforts focus on strengthening the company by attracting, managing, and supporting individuals who take pride in making significant contributions.

3) Company Initiatives

2023 marked the successful completion of the 12-part series of Griffith University’s Motivating Action Through Empowerment (MATE) Bystander Program. This program is a vital aspect of our compliance training strategy, ensuring that each DBM Vircon team member actively contributes to nurturing a secure and respectful environment.

Another significant stride we’ve taken is through our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), in partnership with Reconciliation Australia. Advancing on this path, we’ve implemented global policy updates aligning with RAP’s principles and collaborated with nonprofits like Deadly Coders and LiteHaus, contributing to meaningful outcomes. Our commitment to establishing an inclusive and supportive workplace continues unchanged. These initiatives serve as a testament to our dedication to cultivating an environment where everyone is valued, respected, and empowered.

4) Events Participation

In 2023, we had the valuable opportunity to connect and exchange ideas with our industry counterparts. DBM Vircon was thrilled to be a key participant in various major industry events. Our global teams represented DBM Vircon in multiple instances, showcasing our commitment to innovation and collaboration at notable conventions and conferences such as NASCC: The Steel Conference, Trimble Dimensions, Women in BIM, and career expos in  Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth. Involvement in these events reflects our dedication to staying ahead of industry trends and building connections with our industry peers.

4) DBM Vircon Client Surveying 2023

Despite previously consistently seeking feedback from clients throughout the project cycle, in 2023 we engaged a third party to undertake more formalized surveying. This is something we are now committed to doing on an annualized basis.

We surveyed 73 clients from across our business, which was a remarkable response rate of 38%. We were pleased to receive an NPS score of +69, only 1 point below ‘best practice’, and well above the benchmark of +50, ‘very good’. 82% of our clients said they are likely to keep using DBM Vircon in the future. Some of the candid feedback from clients included:

“Consistent service, known output, willingness to help as much as possible.”

“We have a very honest relationship. There is mutual interest that we are both successful.”

The support they give you when we have a change, the documentation they provide makes it possible for me to go to the customer and get paid more money. And that’s unique.”

“They are highly organised and have great technical sophistication.”

They help us become better at our job.”

We look forward to undertaking the client surveying again in 2024, and hope to improve our results even further.
