The NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and the City of Jacksonville envisioned a state-of-the-art facility that could be utilized by both the team and the city for a variety of events. The result was Daily’s Place, the first-ever amphitheater designed and built to connect with a professional sports facility.
The complex design and fast-track schedule of the project required a delivery method outside of the traditional workflow. The accelerated schedule required a fully-connected model prior to the steel package being awarded. The building’s geometry followed a surface that resembled a river delta, inspired by the current of the nearby St. Johns River.
Working for Walter P Moore, the engineer for Daily’s Place, DBM Vircon used several iterations of Rhino/Grasshopper file conversion to Tekla and modeling, producing an extraction-ready model in just nine weeks.
It is our unique combination of experience, expertise and technology that turns complex data into intelligent and context rich models.
