The Detroit Events Center, now known as Little Caesars Arena, is a multi-purpose arena including an eight story stadium built as a bowl with its floor 40 feet below street level and seating capacity of 20,000 for ice hockey or 21,000 for basketball.
The arena was designed by HOK, a US based architecture and engineering firm and features a deconstructed layout housing retail outlets, arena’s box office and offices. One of the main features of the structure is a glass-roofed concourse which has been erected between buildings connecting to different establishments and offices.
The project included 3D BIM modelling and shop detailing of approximately 9,800 tons of structural steel for client Cives Steel Company.
DBM Vircon succeeded in dealing with the extremely tight 6-month project delivery schedule to deliver due to the target erection date.
It is our unique combination of experience, expertise and technology that turns complex data into intelligent and context rich models.
