Brown & Brown Corporate Headquarter Building

Brown & Brown, Inc. is a large insurance company in the US. Working with Barton Malow, DBM Vircon provided reinforced concrete modeling and detailing for the construction of the company’s new headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Brown & Brown Corporate Headquarter Building Project Details:

The new 200,000 sq. ft. headquarters included two outdoor terraces, board rooms, open office areas, and a kitchen. A separate chiller plant was also added to facilitate the building’s mechanical requirements, along with several site development items. The concrete contractor used an innovative automatic climbing formwork to build the 12-story shear walls quickly and effectively.

Brown & Brown Corporate Headquarter Building Highlights & Challenges:

The slabs on this building were asymmetric & curved; also, there were numerous changes in profiles of the pile caps, footings and shear walls, all of which required meticulous detailing. The 3D modeling that the DBM Vircon team created allowed the placers to visualize the structure and rebar arrangements in it and make necessary changes early-on. The tight schedule and multiple design changes were challenging, but the project was completed efficiently and on-time.
