What is your favorite thing about working for DBM Vircon and the work you do?
The Flexibility, Diversity, Opportunity and Easy access to technical supports. We are now able to work from home if needed unlike previous years and through the acquisition of other companies such as PDC the detailing work has expanded from commercial to mining/industrial projects which is quite interesting to engage with as well. You’ll get to collaborate and engaged with other offices in the world and also this opens up to a variety of opportunities if you choose to be assigned to other teams such as Mining, Rebar, Digital or Technology etc. (if you qualify) as the company gets bigger. And finally, being able to access the technical support team easily is a huge help in every project and as a PM myself, I have experienced the benefits first-hand.

How has your career been during your time at DBM Vircon?
I have been with BDS and now DBM Vircon for the last 15 years, 22-Oct-2022 where I started as Steel Detailer then Senior Detailer and Lead Detailer, now Project Manager. The steady progression of my career has definitely given me confidence in leading a project as I have now acquired an intimate knowledge & skill of Steel Detailing and its processes. And I am very grateful to have worked with and been surrounded by experienced and capable people within the DBM Vircon team.
What are some of your personal and professional achievements?
My personal achievement is when my family finally arrived in New Zealand after 2 years of being away from them (wife & son at that time) and to be able to see the children grow right before my eyes. I have an 18 year old son and 5 year old daughter. And my professional achievement is definitely working with iconic projects over the years which is something special but moreover it is the ability to impart experience/knowledge to my team mates which makes me fulfilled.
