Life At DBM Vircon: Anna Fedorova

Cadet Construction Modeler – Perth

What is your favorite thing about working for DBM Vircon and the work you do?

Working at DBM Vircon has been an incredibly fulfilling experience for me. I love the job, and I feel appreciated. I learn a lot daily in this profession – each project brings on different challenges and interests.

My favourite thing about Company, is that it is very accommodating and flexible for each individual needs. Personally, I am trying to balance work and family life while finishing my studies. The flexible working hours allows me to plan my day to accommodate my kid’s needs as well as my works needs. When I have family needs, I can work a few days from home. Also, DBM Vircon has provided me with a few hours a week for my study, which helped me a lot in my progression for my Diploma.

Another favorite thing is that DBM Vircon recognises the importance of a balanced and enjoyable work environment. The office is not just a place for work; it’s a space that offers a variety of interesting activities and entertainment options. From team-building events and regular social gatherings to innovative wellness programs, and even hiking trips to the mountains – The company ensures that employees have opportunities to unwind, connect, and recharge.

Perth’s People Team rep Keeley puts so much effort into making our office fun and a relaxed place. She decorates it for public or cultural holiday, and brings yummy treats in for everyone, or sets theme lunches/teas. Honestly with every work event, I post it on my social media pages, I always get impressed comments from my friends on how cool my company is.  And yeah, I am proud to work here!

How has your career been during your time at DBM Vircon?

In my short period working in DBM Vircon, I’ve experienced a culture that actively encourages and supports my professional development. The company invests in various training programs, team building activities, and mentorship initiatives, that enable us to expand our skill sets and stay at the forefront of industry trends.

Almost all my co-workers are very friendly people, with neat sense of humours… I discovered that on a team building day =).  Working with these people has been a pleasure, everyone is so helpful and encouraging.

My Career in DBM Vircon is only at its beginning, but I already can see endless opportunities for myself, and I really feel that my efforts are recognised even in this early stage.

What are some of your personal and professional achievements?

Being a mum of three kids (including 1 y/o/ baby) and working at DBM Vircon, for me it is already achievement on its own. But also, in that short period of working in DBM Vircon, I have learnt so much and accomplished the Construction and Design Centre of Excellence Intensive Training Programme, funded, and provided by our company.

On fun side I climbed up mount Bluff Knoll – the highest mountain in Western Australia, this year.  And this trip been made, thanks to the company and Paul Manning, our senior project manager. This trip inspired me come back to hiking, and I started regularly to go on little hiking trips with my family.  Also, this year I tried surfing for the first time in my life (which is ridiculous, since I have been in Australia for 9 years already!!!) and came back to my old passion pole dancing sport. So may be one day you will see me on “got talents show”, ha ha, but probably not =)

It’s been very productive year for me, and now its almost over. I am looking forward to achieving so much more in my DBM Vircon life next year!
