project overview:

At 180,000 square feet, S2 is Google’s new office in King’s Cross, London. It is the first wholly owned and designed Google building outside the US. A generous landscaped roof terrace overlooks the building’s flexible open plan office space and retail space on the ground floor, followed by nine floors of office space above. The building’s steel frame starts at ground level, with a central concrete core providing structural stability.

DBM Vircon’s Scope of Work:

DBM Vircon provided steel modeling & detailing services to Severfield UK Ltd for the main frame, roof trusses and embeds to concrete core.

Challenges & Strengths:

Due to the tight construction schedule, meeting the program dates was particularly challenging. DBM Vircon team was able to deliver the project in a quick span of 6 months.
