Each year over 1,000 cyclists from around the world ride hundreds of kilometres as part of the Ride to Conquer Cancer, and have succeeded in raising over $15 million to fund cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. The event promotes general health, well-being and camaraderie, and is also making a significant mark in the fight against cancer. We all know someone who has been affected by cancer, either directly or indirectly, and witnessed the accompanying pain and heartache experienced not only by the individual affected but also their loved ones. This year to honour those individuals, PDC has recruited a team to participate and raise awareness in the 2015 Ride to Conquer Cancer.
The Australia ride consisted of over 200 kilometres spread across 2 days, down the freeway to the campsite in Pinjarra on the first day, then off to two north along the coast to the finish line at McCallum park on the second. The PDC Group Ride to Conquer Cancer team raised a total of $28,672.88 which placed us just outside the top 10 teams in the ‘most funds raised’ category. The event itself was a huge success, raising a total of $4.5 million, all benefiting The Harry Perkins institute of cancer research. A sensational effort for all PDC team members involved!
Special recognition to the 2015 teams’ Corporate Sponsors: PDC, Kerman Contracting, Good Grocers, Bad Apples Bar, Clancy’s & LuLuLemon.
We thank each and every one of our participants and sponsors for the continual support with respect to this remarkable cause.
