Earlier this month a team from PDC joined the 2016 Salt Sixes Corporate Cricket Challenge, held at the beautiful Tompkins Park in Melville. Jarrod Baker, team captain, together with Max Menin, Rob Massimi, Shaun Black, Warwick Brough and Thor Bekkevold represented PDC.
It was a full day of batting and bowling against other teams and a team of under 17’s cricketers. The preliminary round started off with quickfire games formatted differently where in the games are only 5 overs per innings as wicketkeepers do not bowl. Teams were divided into groups of which PDC were pitted against Bradford Legal, Misfits and BankWest with games for each round played simultaneously on the one wicket.
Round after round the PDC team fought hard, starting strong and giving a good all round performance with a couple of great pieces of fielding during the games, even squaring off against one of the eventual semi-finalists towards the end.
In the end, fun was had by all. For more about Saltsixes please click on the following link www.saltsixes.com.au
